Dr. Russell Harward

As a result of my reckless-abandon personality, I cut my head open eight times by age 16, broke two helmets in high school football, and had a myriad of other minor mishaps. Along the way I suffered from symptoms of neck pains, headaches, stomach acid, irritable bowel, and constipation.

As a last resort at age 18 my mother took me to Dr. Aitken in Provo, Utah. After a few short weeks of care, I distinctly remember stepping out of his office, feeling for the first time in a long time, a sense of wellness and peace. All of my previously mentioned symptoms were gone! I thought to myself, ” is this what people can feel like, because this is amazing!”

Over the next two years, I had the opportunity to be treated by several other chiropractors, always feeling a significant shift toward health. It was then that I started considering what I should do with my life. It didn’t take long to determine that the path I should choose for my life’s work was chiropractic.

A Thorough Education in Natural Health

Dr. Harward began his pre-chiropractic education at BYU where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1985, Dr. Harward returned to the Sandy area to establish his practice.

Harward Chiropractic’s Philosophy

My practice philosophy is to assist each patient in attaining a higher quality of life through chiropractic care, according to their needs and desires. “We love skeptics,” smiles Dr. Harward. We make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that.”

Dr. Harward married the girl next door, Julie. They are the parents of six children, with 13 grandchildren and counting! Dr. Harward enjoys hiking, biking, backpacking, and snowshoeing in the great outdoors.

Having suffered ill health for so many years of his life, Dr. Harward is constantly searching and studying more effective ways to enhance life. Along with regular chiropractic care he practices daily exercise, meditation, and healthy diet.
